We are using Packet Tracer to assist you in the basic configuration of a set of Cisco routers. This will include: IP Address Assignment, RIP routing protocol, configuring basic security of the router, verifying and saving the configuration you have made, configuring routers interfaces and troubleshoot by testing for network connectivity with the ping command. Cisco CCNA 2. If you're connecting a computer directly to a router for initial configuration of the router, you would use a DB9 to RJ45 rollover cable. A rollover cable is basically a cable that is pinned opposite on both sides. The DB9 port goes into a COMM port in the back of your computer and the RJ45 part of it goes into the port marked "Console" in the back of the router.We hope you found this video a little bit helpful and informative.
